It is thicker than the factory skin and it removes the handle and any unsightly "tailgate only" body lines, dips or humps. It will retain any "pass threw" body lines that continue along the bed side and tail lights. It is the perfect addition to our roll pans because you will not need to buy the extra "compound curve" addition when you reskin your tailgate with one of our skins
